What's up everyone? Hope all is well. We've been doing some shows around the Midwest and South over the last few weeks. Some really great turnouts! Thanks to everyone who's been making their way to the party every night. Had a sick show with Badfish last night in Richmond. The National is a ridiculous venue, everybody should go see a show there. The staff was awesome as well!

In the next couple months we'll be doing some lite touring, as we are starting work on our new album which we hope to release sometime this year, so keep an ear out for that!

Howard “Howi” Spangler first heard the word “ballyhoo” when he was 13, and he didn’t know what it meant. He and his younger brother Donald were with some friends brainstorming names for the band they had recently formed. “One of our friends was just goofing off and came up with that,” he said. “And I was just like, ‘What the hell does that even mean?’ It took me awhile to remember it and then finally I looked it up. I stuck an exclamation at the end of it. It was big and colorful in my mind, and our band and music is big and colorful. And the name just stuck.” - The Lantern

Hey, ya hooligans!

We're leaving next week for the summer national tour you will soon come to know as "Put 'Em Up Tour 2009:East/West Showdown". We'll be hitting the road with our boys The b Foundation from Los Angeles and rocking your town. See the dates posted at Myspace.com/Ballyhoo

We're visiting a lot of new places this time around including Mexico, the Pacific Northwest and the upper Midwest, so make sure you spread the word and get all your friends to the shows!

Also, most of you know that we signed with Surfdog Records recently. Our album hits stores Cinco de Mayo 2009. That's May 5th for anyone that didn't get that. Go out and buy the new version of "Cheers!", its got new art, a new tracklist, including a new song called "Alcohol Looks Beautiful Tonight".
